The app helps to quickly report danger and learn more about explosive objects on the territory of Ukraine

About project
As a volunteers we designed the MineFree mobile application makes it possible to notify the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (hereinafter - the State Emergency Service) about the detection of explosive and suspicious objects on the territory of Ukraine, as well as provides access to the map with certain areas that could potentially be contaminated with explosive objects.
Task
The client came to us with working concept of the application, without clear understanding UX side and users needs. We need to create a convenient application that will allow users to report the discovery of explosive or suspicious objects, view a map of hazardous areas, and receive notifications about approaching a dangerous object.
Challenge
Improve the UX of this application without changing its main functionality was a challenging for us. After updating the UI we have built a scalable Design System. Our team of 3 designers and PM analyzed the existing app, conduct UX audit and understand users needs goals. The most difficult part: we have just 2 weeks before releasing the first version.
Results
We have created 4 iterations of UX improvements for gradual updates of the app. The main screen provides the user with all the necessary information in a few taps. In case of approaching a dangerous object that the State Emergency Service has previously identified, the MineFree application will automatically warn you about the danger using a text message and a vibration and audio signal.
